Honeymoon Itinerary

Hello, all! I've been away from the blog a good bit over the past six months. We've made so much progress and wedding plans are coming along nicely. It's just about time, too, with 84 days left and the warm summer breeze starting to turn cooler. Autumn is nigh.

Today I'd like to lay out our honeymoon itinerary - partially for you but also it is helping me to process our plans.

We considered a European river cruise with a pre-made agenda or even working with a travel agent. Before too long we realized we wanted to make this a labor of love (and it truly is so much labor) and blaze our own trail.

You wouldn't believe the preparation that has gone into this schedule. Luke and I are a combined hurricane of details, research, and logistics. Planning is basically a love language of ours. We divvy up the tasks we love or aren't crazy about (they usually fit conveniently like that) and make a concept come to life.

I love researching the absolute best Airbnb for the money, what to do in certain cities, clothes to wear, what to pack, tips, tricks, cultural norms, weather, and how to order coffee like a local. He is equally determined on plane tickets, train fare, budget and exchange rates - gritty, practical things that I find overwhelming. While I am busy making sure our leather shoes are sprayed with a waterproofing seal for Venice, he is confirming train departure times and how long it will take to eat lunch in Florence. I love how we work together like this to pull off something that means so much to us.
