Grand Canyon (Can you spot my brothers?)

Two years ago today my brothers and I were in the middle of the stupidest and most epic trip we’d ever taken. We put 6,000 miles on a rental car and drove to California, camping at national parks along the way.

The halfway point was an Airbnb yacht in the Oakland harbor. Other than that, campsites were home. My brothers preferred a tent but I love sleeping outdoors in my hammock.

Luke’s summers are crazy busy at work so I’m trying to convince my youngest brother Jared to get out and camp with me! Dying to get back out there. Stay tuned for adventures ahead. (And let me know if you’re down to camp.)

Here’s a great beginner’s checklist by Beyond the Tent on hammock-specific gear needed if you’re interested in this style of camping and don’t know where to start. (Beyond the Tent has a wealth of knowledge. We particularly love his camp meal guides.)
